Antonio Conte would have concerns about Chelsea signing James Rodriguez from Real Madrid this summer, according to Alejandro Moreno.

The South American playmaker has been heavily linked with a switch to the Premier League over the past six months after falling out of favour at Real Madrid.

Zinedine Zidane signalled that Rodriguez has no future at The Bernabeu after the Real Madrid boss left the Colombian midfielder out of his Champions League final squad.

Manchester United are the favourites to sign the 25-year-old playmaker as Jose Mourinho looks to prepare his squad ahead of their return to the Champions League next term.

However, Chelsea have been touted as another possible destination for Rodriguez, with Nemanja Matic and Cesc Fabregas both being linked with potential departures at Stamford Bridge.

Speaking to ESPN FC about Rodriguez and his potential move to Chelsea in the summer, expert Moreno offered Conte some advice about signing the South American this summer:

“The same concerns Real Madrid has about ability to defend, ability tactically and his work ethic, they won’t get any easier with Antonio Conte.

“I don’t know if this is a natural fit. Maybe Conte can put his arm around Rodriguez and get the best out of him.”

Chelsea lost 2-1 to bitter rivals Arsenal in the FA Cup final at Wembley last month.

The Blues signed five players in the 2016 summer transfer window under Conte.
