With 20 yellow and two red cards Manchester City have the third worst disciplinary record in the Premier League .

In fact, only West Ham and Huddersfield have received more cautions than Pep Guardiola’s side.

Players receive an automatic one-match suspension if they collect five bookings in the first 19 league matches, which for City is after the match against Bournemouth on December 23.

Nicolas Otamendi is currently serving a one-match ban and will miss the Blues’ trip to Leicester after being booked in City’s 3-1 victory over Arsenal earlier in the month.

Fernandinho has collected three yellows this season and will have to be careful to avoid a ban during the Blues’ busy festive fixture schedule.

It is also worth keeping an eye on Vincent Kompany, Gabriel Jesus and Leroy Sane, who have all picked up two yellows this season.

While they would each need three bookings for a suspension, the Blues have tricky tests against Leicester, Manchester United and Spurs before the tally is raised.

Danilo, Raheem Sterling, Kyle Walker and David Silva all have one booking on their record after 11 league games.

From Boxing Day, the bar is raised to ten yellow cards before a suspension, but the punishment for reaching the mark is also increased to a two-game ban.
