Last night, Nike’s AF-100 Gallery pop-up in Chicago was the place to be, as Air Force 1 collaborators Virgil Abloh, Don C and Travis Scott were in attendance to celebrate the model’s 35th anniversary and deep-rooted legacy.
Hundreds of Chicagoans witnessed the event, which also included performances from Chicago-based artists like Mano, Chase B and HXLT. Media, influencers and Nike communities came together to celebrate Chicago as the “capital of culture.”
Opened this past Thursday on 112 W Hubbard Street, the AF-100 Gallery is a 4-day pop-up in Wicker Park. The space is host to the new AF-100 collection, special DIY customization and personalization options as part of a Maker’s Studio, design workshops and a one-of-a-kind Air Force 1 exhibit featuring some of the most iconic Air Force 1s throughout history.
This weekend, limited edition t-shirts designed by students from the non-profit Chicago CRED program will be available at the AF-100 gallery. The tees highlight the city’s connection to the Air Force 1. Students were selected to participate based on their own passion for design, creativity and interest in fashion.
