Storm Eleanor has caused a number of flights to be delayed or cancelled across the country.

Disruptions have occurred at airports such as London Heathrow, London Gatwick, Leeds Bradford and Newcastle.

The Met Office yellow warning reads: “Storm Eleanor to bring very strong winds later Tuesday, continuing overnight and on Wednesday.”

London Heathrow airport

The airport told a customer on Twitter “some flights have been cancelled”.

“Hi Alex, some flights have been cancelled. We recommend that you check with your airline if yours is affected. Thanks.”

The following flights from Heathrow have been cancelled.

London Stansted airport

Responding to a customer on Twitter, London Stansted Airport assured of “normal” operations.

“Hi Victoria, our operations are running as normal – with no reports of any disruption as a result of the wind currently. 

“However, we advise you to keep in contact with your airline for the latest updates and specific flight information. Thank you.”

London Luton airport

Some flights to and from London Luton have been cancelled or delayed.

London Gatwick airport

Gatwick advised a passenger asking about major disruptions on Twitter to keep “checking directly with the airline for the latest info”. 

“Morning Mike, we recommend checking directly with the airline for the latest info.”

The following flights arriving into Gatwick airport have been cancelled.
