The tennis superstars are in the running for the 2017 ATP World Tour Awards where the sport recognises outstanding players and tournaments.
Roger Federer and Nadal are nominees for the Stefan Edberg Sportsmanship Award and Comeback Player of the Year.
The Swiss star has won the Sportsmanship Award every year since 2004, albeit for 2010 when Nadal pipped him to the prize.
The duo will also be up against fellow pros Marin Cilic and Juan Martin del Potro following their successful seasons on the tour.
The Comeback Player of the Year should pose an interesting debate between Nadal and Federer fans with both players making incredible returns from time out of the game with injuries to win the four grand slams between them.
Kevin Anderson, Filip Krajinovic, Cedrik-Marcel Stebe and Janko Tipsarevic also make the line-up for the aforementioned award.
Winners for the 2017 ATP World Tour Awards Presented by Moët & Chandon will be announced ahead of the Nitto ATP Finals next month.
