Manchester City were given a scare after Sergio Aguero collapsed at half-time during Argentina’s international friendly with Nigeria on Tuesday evening.
The Blues striker didn’t come out for the second-half of the match, which was being played in the Russian city of Krasnodar.
Aguero fell in the dressing room at half-time and was taken to a local hospital for a checkup.
However City later revealed the striker had “never lost consciousness, and was taken to hospital for precautionary medical checks.”
The club have also confirmed Aguero is safe to travel back to Manchester where he will be assessed by the club’s medical team ahead of this weekend’s Premier League trip to Leicester City.
It was a traumatic turn to what should have been another night of celebration for Aguero.
The Blues star striker had claimed yet another accolade as he scored once in the 4-2 defeat to overtake Hernan Crespo as La Albiceleste’s third highest scorer of all time.
