Jurgen Klopp has warned his Liverpool FC team to expect a “really hard” game against Arsenal in their Premier League clash on Friday night.
The Reds are now preparing to take on their top-four rivals at The Emirates in their last game before Christmas as they look to try and lay down a marker for their Champions League qualification hopes.
Liverpool FC were impressive 4-0 winners over Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium on Sunday afternoon as they moved above Arsenal into fourth place in the table.
The Reds are now one point ahead of Arsene Wenger’s men heading into Friday night’s showdown at The Emirates.
Friday’s game is the start of a hectic festive period in the Premier League and Klopp has warned his team that they must be ready for a gruelling few weeks.
Speaking at his post-match news conference on Sunday, Reds manager Klopp said: “It is really hard, it is really intense, it is unbelievable how many points you will probably need at the end of the season to get anything.
“Most of the time we played our football, it is really nice to watch and successful.
“We play next Friday against Arsenal… wow. That’s a really hard one as well, but I’m looking forward to it.”
Liverpool FC finished in fourth place in the Premier League table last season and one point ahead of Arsenal as they pipped the Gunners to Champions League qualification.
However, Arsenal did win the FA Cup for the third time in four years last season after having beaten Chelsea in the final at Wembley.
